Privacy Policy
1. What we collect
Business owners who create a listing provide their name, email address, phone number, business details, photos, videos and prices — most of which is published deliberately as their public listing. Visitors browsing the site do not create accounts and are not asked for personal information. We record anonymous usage events (searches performed, listings viewed, contact buttons tapped) to run the platform and show owners how their listing performs. We do not collect precise location, and we do not read your messages or calls to vendors — those happen entirely outside our platform.
2. Cookies
We use two cookies only: a session cookie that keeps business owners and the administrator logged in, and a language cookie that remembers whether you prefer English or French. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies of our own. If advertising is introduced in the future, this policy will be updated and ad providers may set their own cookies subject to their policies.
3. How information is used
To operate the directory: displaying listings, ranking search results, showing owners their own statistics, managing subscriptions and payments recorded by the administrator, and contacting owners about their account (for example subscription reminders or password resets).
4. What we share
Listing information is public by design — that is the purpose of the platform. We do not sell or rent personal data to anyone. Non-public information (account emails, payment records, usage statistics) is not shared with third parties except where required by law.
5. Payments
Subscription payments from business owners are made via Mobile Money directly to the platform's number. We keep a record of amounts and dates for accounting. We never see or store Mobile Money PINs or wallet credentials.
6. Security
Passwords are stored using strong one-way hashing (bcrypt) — we cannot read them. Sessions use signed, HTTP-only cookies, and administrator sessions expire automatically. The site is served over HTTPS in production.
7. Your rights
Business owners can edit their listing and account details at any time from their dashboard, and can request full deletion of their account and data by contacting us. Deletion permanently removes the listing, photos, videos and account.
8. Changes
We may update this policy as the platform evolves. The current version is always available on this page.
